The Saga of the AMAZING Lavender Scrapfest

The lavender scrapfest was --beyond--imagination--magical, wonderful and SO MUCH FUN.
This layout journals a small thank you (there would never be words enough) to the fantastic committee who made it possible.
A growing album of layouts from Scrapfest can be seen in my gallery at Digital Design Den (gallery>members gallery>p>pssequimages>Lavender Scrapfest album)
Credits on this layout go to all the designers who contributed to the Scrapfest Souvenir CD....there is at least one element from each of them in this layout. (see below). Font is Bettys Hand
Journaling reads:
There's just so much talent, talent, talent represented in Lavender Scrapfest 2007; it is truly a delight! The Scrapfest Committee was AWESOME, and there just wouldn't be words enough anywhere to thank them enough! Co-Chair, Connie handled all the registration packets all those details, nametags and keeping track. Winona drove ALL the possible routes, visited all the fields, and made all the arrangements for our tour. She gets the credit for the Chamber of Commerce Elk sighting! Winona and her husband own a large Apiary (that's bees) and it was she who made possible a honey-gift and the lavender-honey dessert.
Co-Chair, Nicki was in charge of the fun coupon exchange, and all the door prizes. We'd been collecting things here and there for a year, PLUS what so many scrappers shared--so that everybody could have a doorprize or two at the Scrapfest. Nicki did the lavender wand crafting table too. Nicki has been my classroom aide for the past five years for Photoshop, and is my neighbor and best friend....she kept me sane, and kept everything out of cracks to slip through! Her hubby helped serve dinner and breakfast too! Dick, Nancy and Andy orchestrated all the photography efforts handouts, and fun, and Dick helped with the reception and the dinner prep. Dick's wife, Joan, is a paper-scrapper, and it was she who brought all the wonderful stamps, papers, and embellishments for the cards make-it-and-take it craft table. Peg did the min-vase lavender bouquet craft, the little net sachets, and the Swedish weaving pillow project.
Andy was the professional photographer who helped us all in the fields to catch just the right angle, or notice just the best possible shots. He did two other photoshoots, too--the sunset shoot, and the Erosion Cliffs beach walk along the Dungeness Spit area.
Top-notch Designers, Misty Cato, and Rina Kroes were there to answer design questions, help with the how-tos of putting together a really well done scrapbook page. Together with other designers, Kimmi Stewart, Jill DZine, Kris Myers, Robyn Littlejohn, and the 10 designers at Digital Design Den, they showered us with wonderful embellishments and phenomenal contributions to the Souvenir CD. Rina headed up the exciting and delightful Artist Trading Card Exchange, and Misty helped me teach a Photoshop class in design and techniques where we could answer questions and drop shortcuts and trick- techniques all over the room! All the while Lisa Campbell planned and executed the most fun things for the children who came to Scrapfest...from individual crafts, to little trips to see the animals at the Game farm, to the beach, and to the playground! She had coordinated their activities so well that there was never a tear, or a sulk or a frown to be found!
Special thanks go to the Sweet Adelines surprise entertainment, and my friend Leah for making that so much fun. Most of all Thank you to my Roger Wonderful for making this possible, for “fun”ning it for me, and for “fun”ding it too.
Little by little the fullsize images are going up at my Flickr Site---See the sidebar for the link to that gallery, and help yourself to the large prints if you'd like to have them.
