The Sunflower

I loved the way the sunbeams fell on these sunflowers captured at the Jardin du Soleil during Scrapfest. The word art says: "Like a single sunbeam on a warm summer day, there is an exuberance & brilliance in a sunflower." I used papers, gold filigree and embellishments from Wendy Williams' "Breath of Blue" kit available at Digital Design Den.

To Err is Human--to Forgive Canine

Today we walked along the water's edge in Westport. Ole Wimpy woozie Chester didn't like the noise of the crashing waves one little bit, but did love all the wonderful scents in the sand.

The Pelican

A wonderful bird is the pelican.
His mouth can hold more than his belican.
He can take in his beak
Enough food for a week.
I'm darned if I know how the helican.

Fishing Westport

This is a panoramic shot (7shot vertical) of the harbor at Westport Washington. I took this looking south on the main street of the Dock area from an observation tower that also overlooks the entrance to Gray's Harbor from the Pacific. Below is a photo of the Discovery, (owner Dave Camp) coming back into her slip after a day's fishing. DH has enjoyed many a fishing trip, and caught a nice bunch of black sea bass when he went out on a perfect day yesterday.
Font I chose was Euphorogenic.

Puppy's Love

Too cute---this puppy love photo---Chester was looking out the car door window watching me shoot photos of the Gray's Harbor Lighthouse not very far away. He's a very happy puppy now that he's back in the big kennel with the Alpha dog!

I added chain and charm-bones (gold layer styled) to this layout, and put it on dark grungy paper created by German Designer, Manuella Zimmerman. That dark paper covers up some whiskers that didn't extract perfectly! I think pet fur can be very tricky to extract, and sometimes spend way too much time trying to get it right! Chester was standing up in the window of the truck watching me take pictures at the Westport Lighthouse, and so I turned around and caught a couple of fun ones! The gorgeous stained glass frame was designed by Robyn Littlejohn (Digital Design Den) in her kit "Stained Glass."

Grays Harbor Lighthouse

The 107-foot Grays Harbor Lighthouse, dedicated in 1898, is the tallest lighthouse in Washington. It marks the entrance to Grays Harbor, the best of Washington's few outer-coast (on the Pacific Ocean) harbors. We are currently staying in Westport where this Lighthouse is located, and enjoyed our visit to it today.

All elements on this layout are done with Misty Cato's Ocean View kit available at Scrapbook-Elements. The font is Emma.

On the Road Again

Vickey Morrissey of Scfrapbook-Elements designed this pretty quickpage, which was a newsletter add-on to her kit "Religion and More." Font is Poor Richard, and all papers and elements are Vickey's

We are on the road again, and gypsies once more, as we left Sequim in the rear-view mirror this morning. We will be in Westport Washington for a couple of weeks. Look for photos of fishing, chain saw carving competition, and the mega Seafood Festival extravaganza before we work on South down the Coastline.

Viking Vixens Red Hat Society

My Viking Vixens Red Hat Society group had a hoot out at BEAUTIFUL Crescent Lake Lodge where we had a wonderful luncheon. This was a goodbye-fun party for me. Our Queen Nancy had stitched me out the "Iris" for my new house, and sang me a fun "The Way you Wear your Hat" song! It was a wonderful day, and a very special party!

Packing Day

Representatives of Corporate Moving Systems (United Van Lines) Seattle Agency arrived today to start packing us out---and will finish and load the van tomorrow. Busy day, and Javier, and his helpers Jesus and Rich are making this easy and doing such a great job!

I used Digital Design Den designer products created by Lisa and Wendy for this layout.

Goodbye Breakfast

Today we had Breakfast with our closest neighbors at the Oak Table. We invited our buyer to meet his new neighbors, and invited the two realtors who put the sale together so perfectly for us all. We had a wonderful time, and a lot of fun. Great neighborhood, great people and some great memories. The new owner is the dark-haired gentleman on the right. I'm not in that photo, and two others are missing who were there for the "Apple Pancakes" and the breakfast goodies.

I used elements from Wendy Williams (Digital Design Den) "Breath of Blue" for this layout, and the font was Rebecca.

Little Fairy

The fairies have never a penny to spend,

They haven't a thing put by,
But theirs is the dower of bird and flower
And theirs is the earth and sky.
And though you should live in a palace of gold
Or sleep in a dried up ditch,
You could never be as poor as the fairies are,
And never as rich. --
Since ever and ever the world began
They danced like a ribbon of flame,
They have sung their song through the centuries long
And yet it is never the same.
And though you be foolish or though you be wise,
With hair of silver or gold,
You can never be as young as the fairies are,
And never as old.

Most of you know I love things with wings, and fairies and angels above the rest. Today I took a picture of a little garden fairy before she is packed away to storage and goes to live in the sand and the flowers of the cacti instead of the dahlias and roses next year.

I used Julie O's frame and bow from her Part1- "FeelinSassy" kit. This was a gift on her blogspot at her new Stone Accents Studio website. I used the unbelievable background paper and rose chain designed by Lisa Bowman at Digital Design Den in her kit "Just for you"

The journaling, in Liorah BT font, is the poem above, written by Rose Flyeman

Clallam County Amateur Radio Club

Clallam County Amateur Radio Club (The Hams) put on a beautiful party that the whole club attended to wish us well in our move as we leave this particular ham club. DH and I have had a lot of fun over the past decade with all the people in this circle of friends.

Digiscrappers, I used Digital Design Den designer, Nancy Marti's "Celebrate Freedom" for this layout,

Scrappin friends---you might like this! It's freeware and it's GREAT! You can see THREE fonts side by side to compare them. All you do is install.....start it up right from the installation (at the end) and your fonts are all there...no loading them up.....and it is just great and runs tickety-boo! Don't you think it's a great idea for figuring out just the right font for your journaling?

FontPicker enables you to view and compare selected fonts (or variations of the same font), using side-by-side previews. You can compare up to three fonts at the same time and set font colours, styles and alignment for each preview window individually.

Here's where---Freeware

My Ham!

I took this picture of DH at a recent Ham Radio Club function, and I'm going to give it to the Club for their history book when we move. Rog has been Chairman of the Board, and an officer of this Club for a long time; we've certainly had a lot of fun and made a lot of friends there. I did this layout with papers and elements made by the designers at the Digital Design Den, and some of them are from a charity-research kit called "Tomorrow's Promise"

Vallley of the Fire State Park NV

This is a favorite place of mine for photography, and these pictures were taken in January on our way to look at Mesquite area again, where we have since purchased a new home. We're moving to within a few miles of this beautiful place, and I know many picnics are in store for my Nikon D200 and me! Click on image for larger view of this layout.

Template by Misty Cato--unaltered

Font is Betty's Hand, and word art and all papers and embellishments are from Jeri Ingall's Destination Collection "Canyons." Quotation by Marc Chagall. "Great Art picks up where nature ends."
