Remembering Buckie --eight long months

It's been eight months since the Buckster went to the Rainbow Bridge, where we know he is romping and having the BEST time!  BUT we miss his little paw-falls clicking on the tile and miss this little furbaby so much. It's the Longest we've been without a Beagle, now in 65 years.

Remembering Buckie Beagle Boy

These beautiful  Roses came from CHEWY---
They were the supplier of  Buck's dog food, treats, and toys for many years.

They wrote:  I'm so incredibly sorry to hear that Buck crossed the rainbow bridge. To have something like this happen is truly saddening and we can’t apologize enough for what you must be going through. Here at Chewy we're all pet lovers and can only imagine how hard this time might be for you. We know animals aren't just pets, they're family.
On behalf of all of us at Chewy, we send our deepest condolences your way. The passing of a friend is hard, even if that friend comes with four paws, a silky soft fur, and the cutest bark ever. If you haven't lived with a dog, you wouldn't be able to understand the love between a dog and their owner. At Chewy, we do. There are no words to ease the sorrow from the loss of your special friend, but let time heal the pain and love heal the heart. Friends enter and leave our lives, but their impressions on our hearts stay with us forever. We hope that you keep all the wonderful memories in your heart, knowing that you provided a loving home to your little one.

Happy Birthday in Heaven, George.   64 years ago I was taking a final exam in German at the U of A at 8:00 that morning, before we headed out to the Tucson Medical Center where you were born at 5:11 pm. We came home the next day to 1843 West Linden St in Tucson, where your Daddy had set up the most gorgeous Christmas tree we have ever had.  What a fabulous day this was---and a fabulous day today, too as we remember our firstborn and all the memories we shared..

-GIGANTIC Shrimp.  Last time he got this dish,
there were six shrimp and each was fully 1/2 the size of these
monsters! Never saw such ginormous shrimp!

                                                       Our Daughter in Law--Patsy
Surprised Roger by walking through the door on Friday Nov 15--his birthday. She stayed through the 18th just to help---many many little miracles for so many "need to get done" projects.

Wedding wishes for Mr. and Mrs. Jim Robinson

Jim and Kathy were married on October 13th in a private ceremony at Outdoor Resorts in Cathedral City. An  "After Party" was the same afternoon for family and close friends.  Kathy and Jimmy met almost eight years ago and have built the most wonderful love as they expand their hopes and dreams to include each other.  And now they have officially TIED THE KNOT

This is a copy of the Apache Wedding Blessing which I have given to each bride and groom that I have honored through the years..  Kathy and Jim's is framed in an acrylic and chrome frame. The "God's Eye" symbol came from Boho

God Bless you darlings on your special day, and may you have the most wonderful dreams and dreams of dreams of perfect love as you walk together now into your future as one.

The NEW Scooter

We were looking for a 4 wheeled scooter (not just a motorized wheelchair) that is light enough for me to manage and portable enough to use it easily.  We found Golden's BuzzAround Carry-On Scooter. It supports up to 300 pounds and zips around on relatively flat and smooth surfaces.  It's not as promising on inclines but it does move up and down a 15 degree ramp quite well.  The ease of tilt-up and roll into the car is amazing.  I never have to lift any dead weight putting it into or taking it out of the car.  It has a "kickstand" so it can stand on end by itself for storage (or putting into a cabin closet on a cruise ship)-- NOT in the plans, though!

We took our three wheeled scooters on vacation several summers.  See pictures on the Astoria Boardwalk and Brewery Day. from 2021 of those.  They were not portable or collapsible and we had to pull a trailer with them. Great when we COULD!--No in and out of hotels with more than one on those trips--their only limitation. AND they were less stable on turns.

We've had other scooters too but as the technology advances --so does our inability to walk, so here's how we BUZZ AROUND now.

Happy Birthday Butterfly Girl

Inside message (left) reads:

A powerful beacon of growth and new beginnings, the butterfly signifies the power of transformation and the incredible feats we can achieve when we trust ourselves. We all have the ability to listen to our innate wisdom, guide ourselves through difficult times, and emerge better and stronger than before.  Kathy has loved butterflies and their beauty and significance since she was a toddler. Font is Alex Brush.  Butterfly cup is  AI generated.

The inside message (right) reads:

Happy Father's Day Roger

Poem Reads

In an acrylic embrace, may you find solace.
A walk-in tub, where worries gently fade.
May the water’s warmth cradle your weary bones,
As if time itself slows within its walls.

The faucet will whisper secrets to the steam
And Bubbles dance a waltz of liquid dreams.
You’ll sink into the depths, a tranquil pool,
Where life’s cacophony becomes just a lull.

May walls so cool and smooth support your back
As lavender scents weave through the air.
Close your eyes and drift—weightless and serene.
Afloat in reverie, free from every care.

The faucet’s gentle song’s a lullaby
Echoing off the walls- a soft refrain.
And as the water cradles you, you sigh,
Releasing tension, easing every pain.

So here you rest, embraced by comfort,
A walk-in-tub is your sanctuary of peace.
In this quiet haven, may time stand still
And all that matters—be sweetly released.

Flag Day 2024

Oh! say can you see, by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,

O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
                                          Francis Scott Key (1779-1843)
