On the 17th birthday of the Red Hat Society International, April 26, 2015, there was a party at the Ron Decars Event Center in Las Vegas. More than 200 area Red Hatters from several southern Nevada chapters came to the luncheon and to view the contestants as they battled and paraded their amazing hats for the most creative, most elegant, and most unusual red hat honors. Our Sun City Sunbreros own Terry paraded in her very glittery treasure box hat, and our member, Ellie, had made an adorable Las Vegas gambler hat complete with Royal Flushes and feathers galore. The Sunbreros Princess of the Purse, Sharon, and Priss (the Queen), attended the fun afternoon. We were entertained by Josh, the recent winner of the Ronald Schwarzenegger Body Building competition. This mega-hunk escorted the winners and losers from the stage, and posed for photos with the guests. A delightful duo presented a full Las Vegas "barshow" of song and dance to the delight of the party-goers.
This hat, was created from a bra, and won the most unusual.
It was really a gorgeous hat, (the bra is upside down with the diva pin in the center)
